I used this for a couple of weeks and it worked great once it got the hang of getting it into the hay bag. The other day I was rolling it and it snapped into 2 pieces.

I have struggled for years to fill haybags at shows and at home. It has always been a 2 person job, and we always ended up getting hay all over us. These Stable Hands are amazing. Now it is a breeze to fill a hay bag quickly by one person, with out all the mess. I got two, one for home, and one to take to shows. What a handy item.

Works great! Glad I ordered two. I put both in the hay net, then turn one so both sides are open & smooth. Makes putting hay in so much easier! I'm still having a small problem holding it in a roll to put it in but am sure I'll get better with practice.

This is the answer to filling hay bags without getting frustrated! It's very easy to use and works great. The only downside is that it's not easy to store but I just keep it near the hay and load the hay bag from there. Easy peasy!

BEST USES

  • Filling hay nets

Comments:

The Stablehand is useful, but not quite as easy-to-use as I was envisioning. The idea is good - a giant flexible funnel that would help hold bags or hay nets open while you put stuff in. And it does work. The hard part is still getting it to hold a shape that you can put into a bag while putting it into the bag. There are handles, but if you hold them with one hand and the bag with the other, your cylinder turns into a funnel that opens the wrong way - big side down. Part of the problem is that the corners are still too square and catch on hay netting. They are rounded but not quite enough maybe? It could also benefit from handles on both ends. On the up side, it appears sturdy and will probably last a good long time as long as I find a place to stash it where it won't blow away. It can make loading hay nets easier, I just wish I could figure out the best way to hold it.
