Comments:

I have a 9yr old AQHA mare that was cinchy, paws at ground while under saddle, and was stretching or parking out after riding. After a month of Omeprazole treatment I put her on Ulcerguard, and she is absolutely 100% better, moving more freely, no paw or parking out anymore. She only pins ears a little for saddling, overall improved attitude. Improvements seen after 2 months total time. We maintain her on maintance dose, and after 4 months she is only getting better and better.

BEST USES

Comments:

my horse was cribbing extensively, broken wires on stall, grabbing upper wood rail of pasture, dipping hay in his water. The previous owner had rings put in his front teeth, that did work. When I got him, I put a miracle collar on him and started u-guard as a digestive aid. He does not crib as often, the only problem I have is with the miracle collar thinning his forelock; even with the fleece on.

Comments:

I have an older gelding showing signs of ulcers due to use of bute. I tried this because of price and have been happy with the results so far. I feed the powder with soaked beet pulp and even tho he can be sensitive to medications in his feed he eats this with gusto. I have used the gastrogard on other horses but the cost is too high to use on a regular basis. So far his aggression at feeding time is gone his grumpy mood is minimal and he is acting like his old self. Great product for a great price I will continue to order this product.

Comments:

Started using u-guard when it first came out. Did not have horses with ulcer's but do have show horses that are in trainning, and in stalls daily, and also being hauled 2-3 times per mounth. Have not had any health issues with using this and start my yearlings also on it when they arrive here at our farm.super easy to feed as a top dress. I also give my horses vegetable oil as a top dress also per my Vet for hair coat.Oil also helps to coat their stomach and intesting. U-guard is added to feed and top dressed with oil. Horses love it, I also like how it smells. Smells like giant "tums" also the plastic container it comes in is great for storage on counter in feed room.

Had to put our beloved Hadji down after a ruptured stomach ulcer in 1987. Vet science just started researching ulcers in horses. I will use this product for my more sensitive horses and training/show horses.

Comments:

My horse had colic surgery 3 years ago, and we just about lost him. I used Succeed for a while after his surgery but it was just way to expensive. I added U-Gard and have been using it ever since. He used to have issues with major weather changes, stress and being stalled. He hasn't had any episodes in 2 years now.I will never take him off it!

Didn't help my mare's situation unfortunately not my gelding's penchant for chewing on stuff. For the price I didn't mind trying it though.

PROS

  • Big Results
  • Cost Effective

CONS

  • Messy to feed

BEST USES

Comments:

I started my "edgy" show mare on this about a year ago and she will never go with out. In about a week she stopped pinning her ears when cinching, and grooming, wringing her tail, and just over all was a happier horse. You cant beat the price and she loves the taste. However the powder is messy and leaves a film on the feed buckets.

Comments:

I used this on my 3 yr old QH filly. She was hard to put weight on despite top quality food and supplements. She seemed stressed but all tests were normal. She also didn't like me being behind her shoulder. She seemed uninterested at mealtime although she did eat, she left a lot of food behind. I put her on U-Guard and within 2 days, her appetite was back, finished every meal and she was banging on the door at feeding time. I will keep her on it forever. She loves the taste of it, it's reasonably priced as well and it's so easy to top dress on her feed. I am a very satisfied customer.
